The Digmesa Story

What began over 40 years ago as the vision of a curious and creative engineer has become our ongoing mission: to drive innovation forward and develop flow measuring solutions that open up new possibilities.

The first steps

1983-1988

In 1983 Digmesa's journey began: Heinz Plüss founded the Digmesa AG. He had been working and experimenting for years on the idea of digitally measuring and dosing coffee, all in his garage in Schönbühl. With the founding of the company, a great dream came true.

Soon after, the very first Digmesa flowmeter, the FH, was developed and sold from the company’s first headquarters in Biel. Early patents followed, a dedicated development department was established, and Digmesa quickly began to make its mark in the market.

Innovation, Growth and Solidity

1989-2006

In the years that followed, Digmesa focused on continuously improving its products and production processes. New materials, components and design variations were tested to increase efficiency and reliability.

During this period, the company grew steadily: Digmesa built and moved into their present headquarters in Ipsach, new workstations were created and automatic production machines were introduced. We have increased production and received our very first NSF approval.

With the founding of Digmesa Systems Holding AG in 2004, the long-term strategic foundation for the company’s future was set.

Expansion & New Horizons

2007-2018

After existing for a quarter century, Digmesa continued to expand steadily. In 2010, the Heinz Plüss foundation was established, ensuring the long-term preservation of the company's values and vision.

In 2013, Digmesa Systems Holding AG acquired Polyform Kopp AG — later known as Digmesa Polyform AG — further strengthening our vertical integration with in-house production of plastic components.

In 2017, after more than three decades of operational leadership, founder Heinz Plüss retired and handed over management to Stefan Schneider, who has already shaped Digmesa for many years as Head of Development.

Today & Tomorrow

2019-2025

In 2021 our new company building was completed, uniting Digmesa AG and Digmesa Polyform AG under one roof. In 2024, the companies were officially merged to intensify cooperation and further expand our product portfolio. Since then, we have been able to offer in-house injection molding for an even wider range of customized solutions.

In 2025, our founder, Heinz Plüss, sadly passed away. His vision, values and spirit continue to guide Digmesa's path and remain deeply rooted in the corporate culture.

Today, Digmesa has been in business for more than 40 years – continuously evolving with the same curiosity, commitment and spirit that has been defining the company since 1983. We invest a lot of heart and soul in being a reliable partner in flow measurement and injection molding – driven by innovative ideas, dedicated employees, deeply rooted values, and the passion to carry forward the vision of Heinz Plüss.
